Clinton attorney Mart Tisdal was recently recognized as the 2013 Eugene Kuntz Award recipient at the annual Eugene Kuntz Conference on Natural Resources Law and Policy in Oklahoma City. The Eugene Kuntz Award was established in 1993 to honor Eugene Kuntz, a national expert on oil and gas law, former dean, and oil and gas law professor at the University of Oklahoma College of Law. The award is sponsored by the University of Oklahoma College of Law and is presented annually to an attorney that has made major contributions to the field of natural resources law and policy. The Eugene Kuntz Award is one of the most respected awards given to attorneys in the field.
Tisdal is a 1966 graduate of Clinton High School, a 1970 graduate of the University of Oklahoma and a 1976 graduate of the University of Oklahoma College of Law. He has been practicing law in Clinton since 1988. In 2010, he, along with Pat O'Hara and Patrick O'Hara, Jr., formed the firm of Tisdal & O'Hara, which has offices in both Oklahoma City and Clinton.
Tisdal is a member of both the Board of Directors of the Oklahoma Attorneys Mutual Insurance Company and the Board of Visitors of the University of Oklahoma College of Law. He is also a fellow with the American College of Trial Lawyers, the American Bar Association, and the Oklahoma Bar Foundation. In 2011 and 2013, Tisdal was named Oklahoma Lawyer of the Year in Oil and Gas Law by Best Lawyers in America. Additionally, in 2012 he was named Oklahoma Lawyer of the Year in Mass Tort Litigation by Best Lawyers in America.
